I've just become involved with a group that is undergoing ITIL certification, but like most PMs, my time is limited and I cannot afford the time to take the 3 days course. Can someone recommend a 'dummies guide to' or a book that gives an overview that will enable me to get up to speed so I can talk the same language? Note that I plan to take the course eventually.
Thanks!

Hi NB,
I'd start with the 2004 PMI-ISSIG webinar "ITIL and the PMBOK" on this website (http://www.pmi-issig.org/Learn/Webinars/2004/ITILandthePMBOK/tabid/166/Default.aspx) . It gives an overview for project managers and some websites with more infos.
However, looking for a book, read it, look for another book because the first one was not sufficient, etc... You will quickly loose more time that going to a training where you can also ask your questions and get practical tips and hints. Take the training and consider these 3 days as investment and not as lost time !
Kindly
Christophe
NB,
http://www.itsmfusa.org/ also has some good information regarding ITIL.
