Requirements Management Tool

I need a tool that I can uses to capture and manage software requirements and requirements for a physical product to be manufactured.  The tool must be able to capture functional requirements and provide traceability through the entire SDLC.

I would appreciate hearing anyone's suggestions and experiences.

Thank you!

Re: Requirements Management Tool

There is  a great tool by a firm named MKS that provides end to end SDLC with built-in reporting and dashboarding capabilities.   It is amazingly powerful and you would do good to get in touch with them and see a demo.   I have personally used them for many engagements with much success across the organizations I work with.   www.mks.com

Re: Requirements Management Tool

At my current project (a large one involving more than 70 people, over 5Million Euros, 36 months,...) we are using Borland CALIBER RM  , a powerfull tool for recording, tracing agains UCs, Functional Analysis,... and other Borland tools like StarTeam (a collaborative project repository for all Configuration Items needed)

It is not free, but it worths.

Re: Requirements Management Tool
We are just starting to use Caliber RM and I would agree that it is not free, but worth the investment.  It has traceability for both business requirements and software requirements.  You can associate business req to software req and then let the tool ensure that each requirement is accounted for.

Re: Requirements Management Tool

Rational Tool Suite includes a great Requirements Management tool call RequisitePro.  We are currently using it in our organization and it provides the traceability you need throughout the SDLC.  It provides links between Test cases via Rational Manual Tester and Change Requests via ClearQuest Test Manager.

I hope this helps
